DESCRIPTION

The residence in Nea Erythrea was designed by the architectural team of ACRM, the main purpose was to serve the needs of a family of four and to induct the contemporary way of living into the context of direct contact with nature. On a plot of 410sqm, the building is placed on the side boundary, in order to leave enough space to develop the garden and pool area.

In terms of its morphology, the exterior of the structure it can be analyzed in two levels of reading. The exterior of the ground floor consists of, free-standing columns and stone walls, while the view of the first floor composed of, a white prism with horizontal wooden blinds, which is balanced on top of the ground floor level. This approach of the exterior offers a variety of contrasts and an interesting visual effect. The different materiality of the views also reflects the separation of functions within the home. The common areas of the house are developed on the ground floor level, the living room, dining area and kitchen, have been composed with a clear placement, so that there is a view to the garden from every point of the interior and direct relation with the outdoor landscaped areas. Parallel to the living room and the dining area, there is the linear swimming pool, which frames the outdoor life. In the center of the house is placed the vertical staircase that leads to the private spaces of the upper floor and follows a parallel way to the double height space of the living area, offering a visual continuity between the two levels.
