VOLVO HELLAS OFFICES

DESCRIPTION

Project Completion Date: July 2025 The 1,000 sq.m. office space on the second floor of a building in Marousi was designed by Volvo’s architectural team to accommodate the company’s new offices in Athens. Following the brand’s international guidelines, the design was functionally and aesthetically adapted to the existing space, while retaining only a few key elements of the original layout, such as the floorplate outline, the restrooms and the central staircase. At the heart of the layout is a large open-plan workspace, positioned in the brightest and most favorable area of the floor. In line with the company’s workplace philosophy, there are no private offices; all employees, including senior staff, work within the same shared environment. The furniture includes height-adjustable desks and acoustic desk screens, reflecting a contemporary way of working that prioritizes comfort, ergonomics and flexibility. The remaining areas of the floor include meeting rooms and lounge spaces of varying sizes. These rooms are fully equipped with modern technology while maintaining a warm and welcoming atmosphere through the use of fabrics in warm tones, carpeted floors, curtains and suspended lighting fixtures. The electrical installations, as well as the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems, were designed from scratch and incorporate modern automation features that contribute to a comfortable and efficient working environment. Finally, the kitchen area—simple yet fully equipped—provides a relaxed space for informal meetings and breaks for both employees and visitors. Its functionality is further enhanced by the adjacent outdoor area, which can be used for many months throughout the year.

OFFICES IN MAROUSSI

DESCRIPTION

Project Completion Date: December 2025 The project involved the complete renovation of a 1,000 sq.m. office floor in Marousi, which now accommodates the offices of a well-known multinational company. The intervention was comprehensive, as none of the elements of the previous layout were retained. This was a highly demanding project due to the importance of the client, the complexity of the requirements, and a particularly tight schedule. In close collaboration with international architectural and MEP design teams, as well as the company’s Project Managers, the detailed design was completed, and all individual plans were coordinated to ensure a smooth implementation. The entire process — including design development, permitting and construction — was completed within just five months. The interior layout emphasizes clarity and functional organization. The floor plan was designed in a simple and easily readable way, allowing even first-time visitors to quickly understand the spatial arrangement. The reception area is positioned at a central point and is combined with informal lounge areas for staff, while the main workspaces are organized in a more controlled zone, in accordance with enhanced security requirements. Finishes were selected in natural tones, with particular emphasis on the sustainability of the materials used. Artworks by Greek artists, created specifically for the project and presented as canvases and murals, contribute significantly to the overall atmosphere of the space. At the same time, exposed mechanical and electrical installations were intentionally integrated into the architectural design, while modern technological solutions ensure energy efficiency, ergonomics and a cohesive overall aesthetic that meets both functional and corporate needs.

VERNARDOU RESIDENCES, VRILISSIA

DESCRIPTION

Vernardou Residences is a residential building in the area of Vrilissia, consisting of 8 apartments of different types and surface areas. Symmetry is the central element of the architectural design. There are two mirrored apartments on each floor of the building, while the axis of symmetry is clearly reflected in the wall that separates the balconies and articulates the front façade. The layout of the apartments on each floor is as follows: the first floor consists of the 2 smallest apartments with two bedrooms, the second and third floors consist of 4 three-bedroom apartments, with a master bedroom and walk-in closet, while on the fourth floor there are 2 maisonettes with an extended loft area and a double-height living area. The pilotis area features 8 covered parking spaces and there are a further 7 spaces in the basement, along with storage rooms for each apartment. The sloping roof of the maisonettes adds interest to the building’s composition. The slope creates a vertical visual relief, while its extension into a pergola bathes the last balcony in light. On the sides of the building there is a variety of volumes, materials, planting and shading elements. Combined with the appearance of the bare metal columns of the supporting structure, a mixture of complexity is created that perfectly expresses the compositional principles of the building. Finally, the building has been positioned to allow for an extensive green space at the rear of the plot. Combined with the perforated fencing, the pilotis area and planted front gardens, a light visual effect is created from the pedestrian level.

HOTEL UNIT, IOS

DESCRIPTION

The project is a new study by ACRM for a hotel complex on the island of Ios, consisting of 18 independent buildings with a total area of 1200m2 within a 7000m2 plot. The project highlights architecture in perfect harmony with the natural landscape, creating a unique space that combines contemporary design and natural beauty. The plot has a natural slope from West to East and the architectural design has carefully focused on highlighting the ideal view to the sea from all buildings without disturbing the natural landscape. At the same time, the routes connecting the buildings are designed to follow the curves of the land, minimizing interference with the original landform and allowing the natural lines of the landscape to dominate. Of 18 buildings in total, two are bermed and two have two stories with a loft, all designed to blend seamlessly into the landscape, while each building offers the luxury of a private swimming pool. Every design element – from the architectural scale to the choice of materials – has been selected to enhance the sense of harmony and natural beauty, offering guests an authentic luxury experience within the landscape.
